Fort Hunt High School Fight Song

The story of the Green and White Live Version by Celia Florcruz. "This taped version is one that Sharon Fitzgerald Weisner kindly digitized for my website 10 years ago. Mr. Joe Neigh had given it to me. Joe & Dee Neigh had 4 kids who graduated from Ft. Hunt, Gwennie (70), Joe (71), Roger (75) and Carol (77).Mr. Neigh was the announcer for home Fort Hunt football games for decades. He remained at the school long after all of his kids had graduated; he was "The Voice of Fort Hunt," a familiar, avuncular tone that everyone would recall if they were to hear him again. I visited the Neighs a few times before the 20th reunion, and wished aloud that I had a copy of the fight song. Mr. Neigh amazed me when he produced a cassette, which he copied for me. Mr. Neigh had taped the band playing the fight song so that, when they were out of town during home football games, he could play the tape when the team scored. Which, of course, was often! I'm so grateful that he made that effort, not only for the happy addition to our football game atmosphere, but because he captured otherwise intangible, but much beloved by so many people."
